Respond to Helene with Berea FBC and Samaritan’s Purse
Church Family,
We are so excited to continue our partnership with Samaritan’s Purse. Samaritan’s Purse is responding with disaster relief in the wake of Hurricane Helene in six locations throughout North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. We will be partnering with Samaritan’s Purse in their efforts to provide disaster relief in Buncombe County.
There are four main ways that you can join in this partnership.
1) Join us as we serve in Buncombe County this Saturday! If you’re interested in serving with us this Saturday, click here for more information and registration: https://bereafbc.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/2548925
2) You can serve with Samaritan’s Purse directly as it fits your schedule. Each response location is accepting day volunteers every Monday – Saturday to join the disaster response efforts. There are opportunities to serve for all skill levels and ages (14+). To serve with Samaritan’s Purse directly any Monday – Saturday between now and November 2nd, follow these steps:
a. Follow this link: https://spvolunteer.org/project-response/745
b. Read the project information as displayed on the website
c. Click “Respond Now” and fill out the 5-minute waiver, statement of faith, and account information. You will receive an email with a QR code that you will need to present on the day you serve. I recommend screenshotting or printing the QR code for safekeeping!
d. Once complete, you’re ready to show up at the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove by 8:00 am on your chosen day(s) of service.
3) You can give to the Hurricane Helen Response knowing that every dollar given will go straight to the front lines of the response. To hear a quick word from Samaritan’s Purse President, Franklin Graham, and to give, follow this link: https://www.samaritanspurse.org/
4) You can pray continuously for the families, volunteers, staff, and individuals affected by Hurricane Helene. We do not face Hurricane Helene alone, but instead, we have access to the all-powerful, all-knowing, loving God who cares for us and intercedes for us.
Thank you.
