Singing of God’s Love

“Jesus Loves Me” is a precious song that many of us sing to our little ones when they are just a new-born and continue to sing to them as they grow. This is the first song the preschoolers sing every Wednesday night at KidzLife, and what a blessing it is to hear their voices and see their sweet faces.
Anna Bartlett Warner wrote the words of this song in 1859, and the tune was added in 1862 and was written by William B. Bradbury. This song has a total of forty-one words and has been translated into many other languages.
The Bible reminds us of God’s love for us in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
The Bible also reminds us of what we are to do with God’s love. John 4:11, “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another,” and John 15:17, “This is my command: Love each other.”
So always remembering God’s love for us, how do we show love to others? Sharing a smile, speaking a kind word, holding the door for someone, lifting a prayer, inviting someone to church, forgiving someone, sending a text message to someone who recently lost a loved one, sending a card for no special reason, asking someone new to sit with you at church, checking on your neighbor, making a new friend and the list goes on.
As you walk your journey this week, keep the song “Jesus Love Me” in your heart and on your lips, and share God’s love with those you come in contact with along your way.
