College Ministry

We exist to connect college students to Christ.

For College Students

We exist to connect College Students to Christ through Worship, Bible Study, Community, and Missions.

Here’s how we plan to do that:

Step 1: Pour In

In Acts chapter 2, we see the early church gathered together for the first time. Upon gathering, they are poured into through worship, Bible study, and community. Our goal in the College Ministry is to pour into the lives of our college students through relational discipleship in the same way that the early church did.

We believe that every college student deserves to be poured into and invited to biblical community. To accomplish this, we offer several discipleship and community opportunities on a weekly basis. Every Sunday Morning, our College Connect Group gathers together to eat together and study through God’s word together, one book at a time. Every other Sunday night our College Small Group gets together at Ford’s house to eat together, study God’s word together, and pray together.

Throughout the year there are also events and conferences, like The Passion Conference, that our College Ministry attends to allow us to experience God’s goodness in new and transformative ways.

Step 2: Pour out

In Acts chapter 2, the early church does not gather to be filled and then proceed to stay within their walls. They are filled so that they may be poured out for God’s glory! We believe that college students are in an incredibly special stage of life where they are perfectly placed to be poured into, but also to be poured out in life changing ways.

One of our primary goals with our college students is to give them opportunities to grow as leaders and servants. Our college students are invited to find the place that God is calling them to serve, and to pour out all that has been invested in them. Our college students currently serve as small group leaders to High School and Middle School Students, as well as Elementary age children on Wednesday Nights, and Sunday Morning Connect Group leaders on Sunday Mornings. They lead worship on Wednesdays and Sundays for students and adults, host and facilitate Children’s VBS and all of our summer camp programs. They are the driving volunteer force for many areas of ministry here at Berea First Baptist Church!

For those who feel called to ministry, multiple internship opportunities are available in all areas of ministry. Our goal is to provide them every opportunity to serve and be poured out for God’s glory so that they can discern God’s calling on their lives as they continue to grow in their relationship with Him.
