We made it halfway! Two more nights of FUN & shining a light on who Jesus is!

Some thoughts as we go into the final stretch –

Pray hard for lots of energy! 😂
Let’s make every effort and dig deep to set the tone for high energy & hype! When the children arrive, beginning at 5:35, we need at least one group leader for each color at the end of your row of seats with clipboards to take roll. Everyone else, group assistants, floaters, hype squad, etc (if you’re not working on another task), come down in front of the stage to sing, dance, jump around, be silly, high-five kids – anything to get them excited!

I’ve noticed the boys, especially, are not as into some of the hype videos this year, so I’ll work on getting those changed up some tonight. I also think they’re having trouble seeing the screen for movements with the drum cage (a note for next year!) But, even if you can’t see/don’t know the exact dance, any hype from all of you up front will be great!

Along those same lines, we have a lot of volunteers sitting in front of children (just due to the division of grades). Some are also having trouble seeing the screen during worship (music). If all volunteers could gather at the ends of rows during that time, that would be great!

I think I’ve personally missed the mark with not being outside to greet and welcome this year. I will be doing that tonight & tomorrow night, then will come down just in time to open and teach!

Hopefully, my doing that will help with this, but we had people coming in early last night before check-in officially opens at 5:35. I think some parents are confused because they see volunteers’ children coming in early. If you have children coming in with you, maybe try to get in extra early & have your kiddos away from the front windows … we will see if that helps! 

Finally, let’s all plan to meet downstairs in the Crosswalk at the “Into the Light” sign in the corner at 5:20 tonight to spend a few minutes in prayer together. I know we’re all praying individually for VBS, but I’m reminded how foolish it is to begin anything without prayer, and I know it’ll be good for us to have that time together!
